The Orb and the Earth

The orb represents the earth it is true, but digging a little deeper, does the orb (earth) represent the divine rule of the king and his status as a representative of the god (s), or does it represent the agenda of the one world government; a new world order?

would the coronation of a king be a sort of mock coronation of a god, a symbolic type of what is in store for the new monarch?

The cross on the orb could also represent the sun, but that is a whole different post.

  1. Haha! Now we're in buisiness! Excellent questions to ask.
Clearly an important aspect of ritual is how it is percieved. Take for example how in movies the protagonist must race to get to the girl he loves, and disrupt the wedding ritual before she says "I do."
Or, more cogent to this discussion, in Errol Flynn's Robin Hood, how he races to disrupt the coronation of Prince John.
Why? In reality what difference does it make if some guy in a robe waves his hands and says "by the power vested in me..."? It is only because of how it is percieved in the minds of men. It is because we are domesticable and subject to the power of suggestion, dreamworld magic.
But the for OUR purposes, what I want to point out is that if we take seriously the idea of being a "nation of kings and priests", in other words the democratization of the kind of knowledge and power that once was only reserved for the royal and the priestly class, then we would derive great benifit from understanding what the symbols mean, and what their implications are. And how we can reinterperate, and elaborate on them, as in the case of the ME stone parable.

  2. That is a good point. Whether we like it or not, we live in a ritualistic society. In the example of a marriage, for example, two people who live together, and love each other faithfully, yet are unmarried, are considered as shacking up, living in sin, and so on, yet the man who does not love his wife, and cheats on her is considered to have a legitimate marriage.

When President Obama was inaugurated, the oath was misspoken. He became president legaly that day no matter how the oath was given, yet they scheduled another ceremony to do it again. this is also the case with many religions who have a rote way of doing their ceremonies, and if it is misquoted, they must do it again.
